Fall 2012

Graphic presentation 1 and 2 considered the graphic aspect of communicating architectural ideas. The classes are extremely practical and comprised of short projects organized to introduce basic concepts of 2-D design, typography, composition, production and communication.

Part one focused on 2-D composition and typography. We examined the details of letterforms, fonts and type design as well as typographic hierarchy. We then looked at the composition of graphic space using both typography and images, resulting in a final poster.

Part two concentrated on sequential graphic treatments typical of book pages, web design and presentations. Using the tools developed in the first section, we combined graphic tools with narrative content. Each student presented their final form in a brief presentation.
