Public Infrastructure-Employment

Urban Planning Studio

Spring 2013

Smita Srinivas, critic

The Bangalore Spring 2013 studio had Columbia students working closely on 1-2 public infrastructure projects and local sites in the spring term. They worked closely with LabourNet, low-income construction workers and policy-makers to consider alternate evidence and planning processes, comparative guidelines and lessons from other countries and cities and new ways in which the apprenticeship and vocation curriculum design might better reflect work realities in the construction of urban public projects.
